banjoist Béla Fleck
may not seem like a
natural pairing…
Supernatural is

– The Washington Post
The Enchantment features the coming together of the unlikely musical worlds of Chick Corea and Béla Fleck. With a combined total of over 20 Grammy awards and 67 nominations between them, these master musicians and prolific composers play as one creating a completely new sound that will quickly become a modern masterpiece.
Chick Corea — Piano
Chick Corea is one of the most prolific composers of the second half of the 20th century. An illustrious career spanning over 40 years, Chick has created musical masterpieces. From avant-garde to bebop, from children’s songs to straight ahead, from hard-hitting fusion to heady forays into classical, Chick’s restlessly creative spirit continues to explore and generate new material. His latest collaboration, The Enchantment, is a powerful voyage into a completely new musical genre.
Béla Fleck — Banjo
Béla Fleck reinvented the image and sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical map. Born and raised in New York City, Béla began his musical career playing the guitar but became hooked on the banjo stylings of Earl Scruggs. Living in NYC, Béla was exposed to a wide variety of musical experiences. One of these was a concert by Return to Forever featuring Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke. This concert sparked Béla to begin to play bebop and jazz on the banjo.
Now with the release of The Enchantment, Béla is able to bring this inspiration full circle while creating an entirely new form of music.
