leo fender má prsty i v musicmanu konkrétně on vymyslel stingraye...
a to někdy už v 70. letech kurna tak a kde ted je vintage a kde modern sound.....:D

I purchased a Stingray in the mid 70's... pretty soon after Leo first put them on the market. If you weren't there at the time, you have no idea how that bass just blew everyone's mind when we first played it. While Alembic was around, it was a very expensive and rarely seen instrument. Everything was passive Ric's and J and P basses. When the Stingray came out with that active preamp and that aggressive sound, with the unique headstock, etc. it was really something.
Today, there are hundreds of wonderful active basses, etc. Back then, it was the first active bass that most of us had ever heard or played. Just think of it this way... the basic tone of the MusicMan basses has changed very little over the years IMO, and they still sound very contemporary and modern. They were introduced 30 years ago! Can you imagine hearing that sound for the first time 30 years ago
